Bio

Donna Kwon identifies herself as Korean American, Asian American, musician, and lifelong learner. She has a background in Western classical music and gradually turned toward Korean traditional arts through studies in Korea and community-based learning at the Korean Youth Cultural Center (KYCC), which she calls a formative, politically rooted space. She outlines the themes and processes behind her two books Music in Korea and Stepping in the Madang, and offers advice for Korean musicians seeking careers abroad—emphasizing communication skills, entrepreneurship, and building supportive networks.
